For Those Days When Faith Feels Naive


There are days when my faith feels naive. Days when the tragedy and darkness of this world feel more real than my citizenship in His kingdom. Days when my despair cripples my memory of already knowing how this all will end.⁠

I find that those are the days that I’ve allowed the world’s voices to become too loud. Those are the days I’ve stayed too close to headlines and scrolling. That’s when I must choose to quiet the hopeless. That’s when I choose to sit with the One whose words silence the darkness and bring peace. ⁠

So I retreat to a quiet space, pull up my knees, and tuck myself into His Word. I often begin with words from David, as he knew where to go when the days were dark and long...
